EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE LETTER
APRIL 1980

To: General Councilors, Society Presidents, and Field Representatives

Harry McMullan presented a questionnaire prepared by the Domestic Extension Committee dealing with Urantia Book study groups which will be sent to those on our mailing list. The purpose of the questionnaire is to help in locating and identifying study groups. Since we have set our goal as establishing thousands upon thousands of study groups, this initial questionnaire will be our first attempt at a census of just such groups. More importantly, it will help our office staff to refer readers who write us to groups in their geographic area. Of course we hope for a high response to allow us to gain the most comprehensive picture possible.

Various committee chairmen reported on the plans for this summer's workshops to be held at Lake Forest Academy-Ferry Hall to be held in August. Registration materials are being sent to all those who responded to our first mailing. We hope that everyone who wishes can attend without initiating a waiting list. Registration should be in by June 1.

We received news that Herman Schell died March 22, in Tucson, Arizona, after a long illness. Many of you knew Herman from his participation on the General Council and many more enjoyed his fellowship in the Chicago area where he resided for many years. His wife, Edna, asked that any memorial gifts be donated to the Brotherhood and/or Foundation. For those wishing to write, her address is 5842 Northview Ave., Glendale. Arizona 85301.

In preparation for the meeting of the General Council on August 9, can I please have the annual reports from officers, committee chairmen, and field representatives at the office by June 15. This will allow time for them to be reproduced and mailed to all General Councilors. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Enclosed is an updated list of Society officers. Since there is not a uniform time at which Societies elect their officers, there will be a number of changes in the near future. We will try to keep you advised as these changes occur.

Applications for membership-at-large were approved from Mrs. Orvokki Annala, Helsinki, Finland, and Mrs. Bonnie Norton, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Warm regards,

John W. Hales, President
